Held over two days in September, the Dart 10k was the first 10k swim on the open water swimming calendar, growing from 200 swimmers to 1600.
A fantastic swim journey from the town of Totnes down the Dart estuary to Dittisham, the course is marked not by inflatable buoys but by landmarks - the Cormorant Tree, the white rock, Sharpham boat house, Bow Creek. It's supported by volunteers from the local and swimming community who make it special and finishers can enjoy a mini festival at the end!
Swimmers have a choice of two days, with various waves for different abilities, making this event suitable for all abilities. Wet suits are required, plenty of support is available on route and participants receive individual times, and goodies from race sponsors!
Entrants are encouraged to raise funds for charities if they wish and official charity partners are the Bone Cancer Trust, Frank Water and Level Water.
This event is not suitable for 40+ minute milers.
